BAKA BOYZ Morning Show Monday -Friday 6am - 10am The
Baka Boyz first made their mark in Los Angeles
radio in 1992 at Power 106 with their creation of Friday
Nite Flavas. Since that time they have continued to
influentially impact the hip hop music industry. Their
raw talent and passion for originality gave birth not
only to live mixing in Los Angeles, but to the inception
of The World Famous Roll Call. After dominating the
ratings in afternoons and the coveted morning show slot
at Power for seven years, the Boyz did it all over again
at KMEL San Francisco, and Beat 105.3 in Miami! Eric
& Nick's sharp eye for talent has opened
the doors for many to pass through and their dedication
to producing a quality show has allowed them to continue
to break down barriers in radio. From producing hip
hop classics like "Pistol Grip Pump" to hosting
the nationally syndicated "Hip Hop Master
Mix", which broadcasts on over ninety
stations from coast to coast with a weekly audience
in excess of 2 million listeners, The Baka Boyz have
established themselves as hip hop radio gurus. As the
architects of the new sound of broadcasting, many have
attempted to duplicate the blueprint they have created.
AND NOW… the legendary BAKA BOYZ are
spear-heading the all new BLAZIN’ 98.9

DIEGO with their unique take on all that is
great in HIP HOP, R&B and MORE!

the Inland Empire. Meanwhile, Vanya also did some
promotional work as a Miller Light Girl. She also
modeled for an independent clothing line that has

Chris
Loos Monday -Friday 6pm - 10pm
Living in the #2 media market in the country, Chris
Loos grew up listening to some of the most influential
DJ’s in radio history. Growing up in Pasadena,
CA, Chris graduated high school at 16 years old and
started his own radio show while enrolled at Pasadena
Community College soon after.
His experience with college radio led to interviews
with such artists as Eminem, Xzibit, The Black Eyed
Peas, and Kelis while they were in the early stages
of their careers. Chris earned an internship at KIIS-FM
and studied under legendary Rick Dees on his morning
show. This led to a opening position at 92.3 The Beat
during its streak of dominance in L.A. radio. There,
he got to watch Theo, John London, Kevin Nash, and Diana
Steele, but learned the most as the producer on Julio
G’s night show.
When he was ready for his own show, Chris took over
the late night shift at Hot 94.1 in Bakersfield, CA.
After gaining #1 ratings, he moved over to Hot 92 Jamz
in L.A. with the SoundLab Mix Show on Friday nights.
Chris then took his career to the next level by becoming
the Program Director for a start-up station called WILD
96.1 in San Bernardino, CA. After helping build the
station from scratch, he took over the midday slot and
quickly developed a strong fan base. Then Chris was
approached about helping launch a new station in Los
Angeles that eventually would become 93.5FM KDAY, where
he was the Assistant Program Director/Music Director
and early afternoon jock.
He’s excited to be in San Diego, with the team
at Blazin 98.9 as the Assistant Program Director/Night
Show Host.
